Minor girl murdered after being lured by boyfriend and father in Bankura, accused arrested

A 16-year-old girl from Domjur, Howrah, was allegedly abducted and murdered by her boyfriend, Rahul Baudi, and his father, Dhirendranath Baudi, after being lured to Dhagra village in Bankura. Following a written complaint filed by the girl’s family, the Chhatna police arrested both accused. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are seeking to confirm the exact cause of the girl’s death and the circumstances leading up to it.

On November 15, the girl left her home, telling her family she was going to Dakshineswar for a religious event. However, after several hours without any contact, her family became concerned. They attempted to reach both the girl and Rahul, but their phones were turned off. The next day, Rahul called the girl's family, informing them that they had traveled to Dhagra village in Bankura. When the family arrived at Bankura Sammilani Medical College, they discovered that the girl was dead.

Upon the girl’s arrival at the hospital, she was found in critical condition and later declared dead. The cause of death was not immediately confirmed, but an autopsy was conducted at Bankura Sammilani Medical College to determine the exact cause. Local police have begun questioning both Rahul and his father, who have been arrested under charges of abduction and murder. Rahul and Dhirendranath Baudi are currently in police custody, and authorities are exploring whether the crime was premeditated.

Rahul, who worked at a printing press in Domjur, was reportedly in a romantic relationship with the girl, who also worked at a nearby printing press. Although the girl’s family initially accepted the relationship, they had expressed concerns about marriage due to the girl being a minor. According to the family, Rahul and his father allegedly took the girl from her home and transported her to Bankura, where her body was discovered. The family has accused the father and son duo of coercing the girl and causing her death.

The police have launched a thorough investigation, including reviewing the phone records and movements of the accused. The autopsy report is awaited to clarify the cause of death. The girl's family has demanded the harshest punishment for the accused, with some sources suggesting they may request the death penalty.
